The local ice cream van guy finally spotted my CF and stopped the other day and we had a chat. He asked me if I knew where he could find spares and I told him about the club. He knew about Mr Expensive in Leeds but wasn't keen. Apparently he doesn't have access to the internet so won't be joining the club anytime soon. He's driving a CF 250, not sure what year, but it's pre 1979. 2.3 Petrol, runs VERY sweet! His two main problems are rotten sills and the gearbox keeps on dying.. Kinda like spinal tap, but it's the gearbox instead of the drummer. He's switching out about two gearboxes per year. He's driving EVERY SINGLE DAY in that van, doing the rounds selling ice cream for ages!

He spends his time hunting Bedfords in people's back yards, and then knocks on their door and buys their gearbox... Needless to say, I'm not selling him my gearbox anytime soon!

was in st albans today, and happened to walk past a garage that had a lovely white k reg beddy showing, so i asked the mechanics who said it was being done up for a customer, welding spraying etc
if its anyones on here let me know how it got on there and if they did the mechanics on it as well, as it would be nice to know there are mechanics local that can work on beddys and know what they are doing.

Wow...! Serious chrome there! Long-wheelbase too... Nice one!

The number of on-the-road CF's in Sheffield is now at least 7. There's one almost permanently parked up in "student territory" behind the Arts Tower, but still taxed, an Ice-Cream van doing the rounds in Darnall/Attercliffe, two identical recovery trucks parked near the gas station on Herries Rd roundabout, a 1983 facelift CF and a 1979 CF parked on my drive, and another user on here...

CF1 Beddy coachbuilt in Blackpool

YAY, spotted on the promenade going through the Illuminations on Friday 8th October 2010 at 1925hrs, stopped at the traffic lights by the Manchester pub, a bedford CF twin wheel coachbuilt, Pioneer or Advantura type, similarish to mine, I didn't see what body make it had, but managed to get a quick snap of it on my phones cam, so a bit blurry, reg FPR***T.

Does anyone know who's van this is.
