one cold shower later...

hello to the bedford camper seen this afternoon battersea park road London

It looked like a 1978 coachbuilt, it had two purple stripes going round it, guy driving long beard, a bit like another bedford owner I know in battersea who lives in his van.

Anyone on here?

Spotted today about ten am. On the A835 heading from Ullapool towards Inverness, just outside Dingwell. CF2 fire engine/support truck. Waved but don't know if they seen us. It was a lovely looking van. Anyone seen this around and about?

On Friday evening I spotted a 1973 coachbuilt going down the M5 and also (apologies in advance) a CF2 broken down on the hard shoulder (couldn't stop, I was late picking up my son from Ilfracombe).
Then, on Sunday taking him back I saw a CF2 on the back of a recovery wagon going back up the M5, not sure if it was the same one?

Yeh, pretty much like that. Just spotted another CF1 camper leaving north of Ullapool. Flashed and waved, think they thought we were nutters!

Seen another one, thats three in two weeks!!! This one a CF1 ice cream van, driving past the end of my street in Kirkcaldy. Did'nae have any cash on me to stop him and buy one. Seen it again the next day a couple of streets away so must be doing his rounds around here. Will try and stop him next time.

Ullapool

Hi there Ally1314 it was Ian and myself that you passed north of Ullapool the other week.

We were amazed at all the other campervans that went passed waving!!! We did wave back lol but i was too busy looking at the scenery that i only saw you just as you passed.

There is a really nice campsite in a place called Stoer that we love.

That was our first long trip that Burny our Bedford had done and although we ended up driving on a road and the lights whent out and we could not see anything (both of us screaming lol) He did really well. On our way home we had smoke comming from the light switch and the rubber grommet inside the switch had melted away so instead of taking us 5 hours to get home it took us nearly 9hours because we had to keep stopping to let the switch cool down!

But i am soooooo proud of Burny

Really nice to see you up there and hope to see and talk to you the next time.

Jemma & Ian

I've seen five of them today!

Is this a new record?

1) Camper travelling west on the A30 towards Exeter about 0830. I got a thumbs up in response to manic use of lights and horn

2) Glendale (I think) with the spare wheel strapped to the grille on the A30 Honiton bypass (heading east) around 1350. You were about to get stuck in a lot of traffic!)

3) A green and white CF2 camper with a really stylish looking body on the back about 5 minutes behind the second one

4) Camper exiting the M5 south at junction 30 around 1420. Red flowers hanging from the mirror and the driver had a huge grey beard that puts Solarjohn's to shame

5) A pea green panel van looking rather sorry for itself in a garden in Newton Poppleford. Couldn't see all the front, but think the 250p on the wing suggests it is a CF2. Unlikely to have been on the road for a while!

Let's see how many matches I get...

Not quite a record but.....

Not seen five in a day, but today seen my fourth in three weeks. CF2 van, Creg, spotted going past the Ice Rink in Kirkcaldy at about 5.15pm. Grey in colour, patches of primer, looked liked it was ready for a re-spray.

Ullapool

Jemma & Ian. Good to put a name to fellow CF drivers. We had just left Clachtoll , about three miles up the road from Shore campsite. Really is a wonderful part of the world. Glad you had a great trip. We were heading down to Gairloch. It was a fantastic two weeks of camping.
All the best, Ally & Hayley
