hey thats what happened to mine too.
i bought the same type [but newer] for spares or repair and it needed a new alt. so i stripped it off the old bus and hey presto. it dont fit..so we sent it off for a rebuild and 16 days later they tell us [we had to phone them] that they can't rebuild [why - it's a bog standard early townace 2ltr petrol] and they would get back to us with a recon unit price.
oops - got one - £40 - delivery [£10] monday [and no they still haven't got back to us with a price].
I will be on the road for friday and with my F***** tent
see if any one can give you a lift? anyone else coming from the north
???

5.30 the alt turned up from foreign car spares.
i refused it

the delivery man told me it was sent to them at 5 30 the previous day probably seconds after my phone call telling them to shove it.
other one arrives tomorrow am and we will be spending the next 2 days sorting out for
Blackpool
might even get hook on in time so we can take tent.
with the awning on we have a 10-12 sq mtr area to meet in.. so might just keep it for the meets.
plus we have the big 9 man tent for meets too.

I can only repeat what Dee said, it is just a pity that some of those who said they were going didn't. Thanks again Gethin for your troubles.

Glad to see everything went well. I just wish I could have gone but a certain 11 month old screaming monster decided to change my plans at the last minute Oh well......

Cheers Gethin for the good weather. Maggie and I had a great weekend,
even Roi's torture wasn't as bad as it used to be and I can run faster than him, nice to see some new faces.
Hi David we were in Barmouth the week before also Bala and Chester, all the best to you as I missed you when we left, We found a smashing site just outside Daventy on the way home the showers and loos were spotless tons of room and only £8 a night, bad bit went to leave in the morning, nail though rear tyre had to move the van a few feet cause the
ground was to soft for a jack that ruined the side wall so had to get a new tyre!!:|
