dipstick

Hi all,

I've recently bought a 1982 Bedford CF250 autosleeper.

I'm struggling to find the dipstick. I've had a number of friends and even an RAC man look for it and we are all stumped. I'm starting to think it is missing. Can anyone advise me where it should be. a picture would be helpful if possible. also do you know where I can get another one in London (if it is missing)?

Thanks in advance

Stephen

What engine do you have? Assuming it's the 2.3 slant engine and you are looking from the front the dipstick is just behind the air filter to the left of the distributor.

I would imagine the only place you will get one is either a scrap CF or Adrian Bailey - at a price!

Thanks for your help. it turns out that the leak is coming from the gasket under the rocker box gasket sometimes called the can cover gasket. The garage is struggling to source one. Does anybody have any ideas where I may be able to get one? At the moment they can only get one as part of a set which would cost £110 When I only need a £3.00 gasket.
