firstly a apology to Colin as usuall read the instructions after the build, read your article explaining why the club cannot cover any meets where fires are liable to be lit. Sounds resonable realy. Pity that the best meets usually involve a BBQ. Well at Asterly Green there are no open fires or BBQs as for a extra cost there is a function room and cooking facilities that is OK for CLUB meet. Aparently there has not been a CLUB meet for a long time so can I suggest a meet at Asterly green again this year if bookings are available if not maybe next year. Hows about that then. Jim

No need to aplogise Jim. Is that the site with the winding gear and was there some railway connection? If it is I can't see why a club meet couldn't be arranged. Just no hang gliding from the winding gear, ok

Unfortunately it was Elvaston that wanted the PL insurance as it is on council land (an exception) so I'm afraid I will bow out of the MMM as it just wouldn't be the same without getting told off gathering fire wood lol. I completely understand the reasons.

Thanks for persuading us to come Dave, realy enjoyed the meet made new friends of course and the weather was on our side 90% of the time. Enjoyed the events at Pickering also missed all the trafic coming and going. Will be applying for next year. Joan will be posting pictures later she is a bit under the weather just now, had a wisdom tooth removed today. see you all the next time we meet

Just got homme today enjoyed Pickering once again glad to see some CF-UK club members there I think we can safely say we had a good time and the weather was very kind to us. From Pickering we moved on to Whitby and stayed three nights there then on to Driffield show its the first time Ive been but really enjoyed it we left Driffield this morning and traveled home after being away for two weeks with very good weather we came back to rain.

Pikeyring Traction Engine Rally

Thanks to Dave for his organisation of the (unofficial) CF meet. We enjoyed our weekend but felt that the trade stands were a bit down on last year. The entertainment was sadly no comparison with 2011 but I guess they had blown the budget on security. The local press reported very little trouble and the police were complimentary of the upgraded security. Look forward to seeing everyone next year, (unofficially of course)
